City Clerk
The Clerk serves as the link between Council and citizens.
The Office of the Clerk for the City of Plato provides clerical, record keeping and administrative
functions to the Council. In addition, the City clerk performs many tasks that assist in guiding
and managing the operation of local government policy and law. A few of the responsibilities of
the City Clerk are:
*Collects, organizes, and maintains records
*Prepares utility (water/sewer) billing and maintains records
*Handles accounts receivable, accounts payable and financial reporting
*Drafts documents, contracts, letters, etc. as required
*Conducts research
*Discussions with residents, records complaints
*Prepares council meeting agendas and records minutes
*Works directly with the Plato Fire Department and other committees
*City rentals
Posted City Office Hours:
Tuesdays 9:00am to 12:00pm
Thursdays 4:00pm to 7:00pm
The Clerk is in the office more hours than posted, but those hours vary. The Plato City Office is
a one-person office. There are times when the Clerk is out of the office during posted hours for
meetings, conferences and other city business matters. If you need to stop at the City Office,
please call ahead to confirm it is open.
